On Site Activities
At Somewhere, you don’t have to go far to make unforgettable memories. There is lots to do from your own private beach, including: wake boarding, water skiing, knee boarding, sea biscuiting, E foil boarding, kayaking, standup paddle boarding, Hobie cat sailing, wind surfing, pedal boarding, an art studio as well as yoga and mat pilates equipment.
Fishing Excursions
Keen on catching dinner? Onsite caretaker and skipper Alexis is a master fisherman with extensive knowledge of all the best spots in the Bay of Islands. Whether you are interested in heading out for a quick cast or for a longer expedition we can tailor a trip to suit your preferences.

Scenic Heli Flights
Somewhere has its own Airbus ACH125 modern “Squirrel” Helicopter available for private charter (operated by Heletranz), and so opportunities for adventure are endless. Take a scenic flight around the bay, fly to remote beaches at the top of the north island inaccessible by road, land on a rock for a heli-fish or fly to one of the many world class golf courses which are close in proximity.
Russell Historic Township
A trip to the Bay of Islands would be remis without visiting Russell. The first capital and trading hub of New Zealand. Facing west, the colonial architecture that lines the quant pebbled beach glows orange under the evening sun. Dinner at the famous Duke of Marlborough is an institution, while pizzas at Hone’s Garden is quintessential laid back NZ. End the evening with a scoop of ice-cream from the local ice-creamery and take a moment to look through Cass Street Gallery whose curation of New Zealand art is not to be missed. All just a 15 minute boat ride from Somewhere, Alexis is at your disposal to drop you for lunch or dinner or a stroll.
World Class Golf
New Zealand is renowned for its world class golf courses and Somewhere is just a short helicopter flight from some of the best including Kauri Cliffs, Tara Iti and Te Arai Links.
